R&B Records (Stamford Hill)

Well supported

North London shop opened in 1959 by Rita and Benny King at 282 Stamford Hill, among the very first British outlets to stock and then release Jamaican music; from it grew a family of pioneering labels — R&B, Ska Beat, Caltone, Port-O-Jam and more — with Rita King travelling to Kingston to buy master tapes.
