The Upsetters

Well supported

The Upsetters were the studio and touring band associated with producer Lee "Scratch" Perry, active from the late 1960s and central to his Black Ark-era productions. Their early lineup at one point included the Barrett brothers, Aston "Family Man" and Carlton, who later became the core of The Wailers' band. They are remembered for instrumental hits such as "Return of Django," a UK chart success in 1969, and for backing countless Perry productions.
