Ernest Ranglin (born 19 June 1932, Manchester, Jamaica) is a Jamaican guitarist, composer and arranger whose jazz-inflected, percussive playing helped shape the guitar style at the heart of ska and reggae. He served as house arranger for Coxsone Dodd's Studio One, arranged and played on Millie Small's 1964 international hit "My Boy Lollipop," and is credited with helping assemble the Skatalites; he has since pursued a long career blending jazz and Jamaican music.
