Nitty Gritty (born Glen Augustus Holness, 1957-1991) was a Jamaican reggae singer prominent in the mid-1980s digital dancehall era. After early work with Sugar Minott and George Phang he had his breakthrough with producer King Jammy on "Hog inna Minty," followed by albums such as Turbo Charged (1986). A close associate of Tenor Saw, he was fatally shot outside a record shop in Brooklyn, New York, in June 1991.
