Studio One riddim built around Leroy Sibbles' bassline for Roy Richards' late-1960s instrumental, named Freedom Blues for its liberation theme; deejay Tapper Zukie's mid-1970s hit "MPLA," produced by Bunny "Striker" Lee and cut at King Tubby's, gave the same riddim its widely used alternate name honoring Angola's liberation movement. Revived in 1990s conscious dancehall for Buju Banton's "God of My Salvation" and as the title cut of Luciano's 1995 album Where There Is Life.
