Mad Mad Riddim

One of Jamaican music's most-versioned foundation riddims, first cut at Studio One in 1967 as the backing to Alton Ellis's 'Mad Mad' and published by Clement 'Coxsone' Dodd. Henry 'Junjo' Lawes relicked it with the Roots Radics around 1981, and it later became known by the names of its biggest hits over it, notably 'Diseases' (Michigan & Smiley), 'Zungguzungguguzungguzeng' (Yellowman) and 'Golden Hen' (Tenor Saw, 1986). It has carried well over a hundred versions across reggae and dancehall.
