Nanny Goat Riddim

Well supported

A Studio One riddim built for Larry Marshall & Alvin Perkins's 1968 single 'Nanny Goat,' frequently cited as one of the first true reggae recordings marking the shift out of rocksteady. Coxsone Dodd oversaw the session, keyboardist Jackie Mittoo directed the music and Boris Gardiner played the bassline. The riddim has been recut many times, including a 1992 Donovan Germain/Penthouse version.
