Fatman Hi-Fi was a North London (Tottenham) sound system run by Jamaican-born operator Kenneth 'Fatman' Gordon (1962 migrant from Waterhouse, Kingston), who first named it Wild Bells and Imperial Downbeat before settling on Fatman Hi-Fi in 1974. Voted best sound at the 1979 Black Echoes British Reggae Awards, Fatman ran a West Green Road record shop and the KG Imperial and Fat Man labels, notably partnering with Prince Jammy for exclusive Jamaican dubs.
