Gemini Disco was a Kingston sound system whose roots trace to the late 1960s under Papa Gemini (Gerwin Dinnall) and Papa Kenneth, initially playing soul before broadening into funk, disco and reggae. Officially billed as a "disco," it became a launching pad for deejays such as Welton Irie and, with selectors like Archie, was among the sounds that capitalised on the emerging dancehall style of the late 1970s and 1980s.
