Strictly necessary
These are set without asking, because the site cannot do what you asked of it otherwise. Under the ePrivacy rules they fall under the “strictly necessary for a service you requested” exemption.
| What | Set by | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Supabase (first party) | Keeps you signed in so you can contribute, and lets editors reach the review desk. |
jma-cookie-consent | This site (local storage) | Remembers the choice you make here, so you are not asked on every visit. |
| Your saved bits | This site (local storage) | Your crate, a riddim you built in the Mix Deck, how far you have travelled through the eras, and whether you have dismissed a tour. Kept on your device — never sent to us. |
Analytics — only with your permission
Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager. It tells us which records and pages people actually reach, which is how we decide what to research and expand next.
Nothing is requested from Google until you opt in. If you decline, or simply never answer, the scripts are never added to the page — no request is made, and no identifier is set. If you accept and later change your mind, we delete the cookies Google set (_ga, _ga_*, _gid, _gat*) as soon as you switch it off.
Advertising storage stays denied at all times, even if you accept analytics — we ask about measurement, so we do not take that as permission to enable advertising identifiers.
Embedded media
Record and interview pages embed video from YouTube (using the no-cookie player where possible) and audio from Spotify. Those players can set their own storage once you press play, under their own policies. Nothing is loaded from them until a page containing an embed is opened.
Changing your mind
Withdrawing is as easy as accepting, and takes effect immediately. Reach this page any time from the Cookies link in the footer of every page.
You can also clear this site's cookies and local storage in your browser settings, which resets everything including the consent record.
