Donovan Germain is a Jamaican record producer who founded Penthouse Records and, after returning to Kingston in 1987, opened Penthouse Studio, one of the island's leading studios in the digital dancehall era. He guided the early career of Buju Banton, who joined the label in 1991 and recorded hits such as "Murderer," and worked alongside in-house engineer/producer Dave Kelly, developing artists including Wayne Wonder, Marcia Griffiths and Tony Rebel. Germain became one of the most successful reggae producers of the 1990s and served as Buju Banton's manager for many years.
